Some pics about my trip to Urbana-Champaigne
I did not take a picture along the road and It took me more than 8 hour to get to Urbana Champaigne, Illinois, from Lincoln, Nebraska.
I left home at 4 pm that Wednesday and drove towards Kansas city. I remember a nice hilly route, surrounded by forests all along that part of the road. Sadly, I witnessed a wild animal dead at the edge, hit by a truck I guess. It was the knife of a modern highway cutting a natural area.
I did not take a picture, but I pass by a lake with many trees in it with no logs, a landscape totally the opposite to with what I have seen before. At the backward of this view there was a big facility manufacturing something smoking through its chimney.
I did not take a picture of neither of the motels where I decided to stop and rest. I do recall that It was a very tiny town in Missouri which name is Mason. I wanted to take advantage of the road and sleep in a movie-style Motel. The room was small and clean, and the calefaction machine was installed on the wall. Although the mattress was washy I slept well. As the post in front of the Motel offered breakfast, I got dressed lively and packed my clothes efficiently. I got a little disappointed when the clerk pointed a table at the corner of the reception room with a coffee maker biscuits and bananas. And then, I found out It was ok considering the place, a familiar owned Motel for drivers of one night.
I just took a pic on the road, heading to Urbana. This is it!
Once on the road again, heading to Urbana I stopped by a gas station. I don't know why there is this pic in my mind. I parked my car at the parking lot of this gas station and store of groceries. May be It is because It was a beautiful morning, I was close to cross over the border between Missouri and Illinois, the nice store or the politeness of the manager.
Later on, I couldn't take a picture of a long bridge on the Mississippi River and the beautiful towns that began to pass by on at a speed of 70 miles per hour, towns among hills on the fall, and a green and natural environment. I wished to stay there for a while. But I was rushing to arrived in Urbana at noon.
Beautiful buildings on the Campus of the University of Chicago in Urbana-Champaign.
